Police in Wakefield, Quebec arrested a 30-year-old Gatineau man roaming the streets with a loaded handgun and a hunting knife after he fled from his psychiatrist at the Wakefield hospital Feb. 16.
The man was meeting with his psychiatrist at the Wakefield Memorial Hospital and wanted to keep him overnight for metal health reasons. But he took off on foot. Police caught up with the man just outside their station in Wakefield and found a loaded 22 caliber gun and a hunting knife hidden in his pants.
