It’s a tough job, but somebody in La Peche has to be mayor.
And if the rumours are true, there could be at least two candidates vying for the top council job in the Nov. 3 election.
So far, current mayor Robert Bussiere has said he’s running for a fifth term. But he might not win by acclamation this time around.
And Francine Dube, of Edelweiss, has said she might throw her name in the ring against the mayor of 16 years.
Following a meeting among the seven mayors of the MRC des Collines regional government Aug. 15, the Low Down asked Bussiere about his potential competition. He sat back in his seat and raised his eyebrows.
“People have to realize,” he said. “It’s a lot of work. It’s not just going into committees. It’s a lot of involvement in communities.” Click to continue
