Thomas Markhauser, a 19-year-old Cascades Club paddler, has already conquered Canada – now he’s up against the world.
Fresh off a three-medal performance at this year’s Canada Games, the Chelsea athlete is now setting his sights on Brazil, hoping to compete in the 2016 Summer Games.
At the Canada Games in Sherbrooke this past summer, Markhauser struck gold in the Canoe 4 (C4) 200-metre sprint event with teammates Maxime Plouin, J.S. Brouillet and Michael Loussier.
Markhauser also came home with silver and bronze medals dangling around his neck from his performances in the C2 5,000-metre event and the C4 1,000-metre race, respectively, at the Games. Click to continue
