Chelsea, Quebec council behaviour puts respect rules in question

The Editor,

I attended the Sept. 10 meeting of Chelsea, Quebec council to ask a serious and relevant question, regarding how council is deciding who is potentially “affected” by the proposed multimillion-dollar borrowing for suburban-type water and sewer infrastructure.

I sincerely hope that the entire council will begin to act in accordance with the rules they have posted on the door of the council meeting room, demanding that residents show respect for others.

This is much more likely to occur if council starts to show respect for residents. An important way to show respect is by providing serious and honest answers to residents’ serious and relevant questions.
