Thanks to the Low Down for the coverage two weeks ago of this year’s Wakefest. It was a fantastic action packed weekend with many wonderful and fun events, and the Low Down managed to give us a great look at the highlights.
With so much going on, it was inevitable that some events did not get mentioned.
At the same time that the Fashion Show was wowing the Thursday evening crowds, an art show was taking place inside the Expedition Radisson Cafe. It is entitled, “13 Portraits” and features works of local people by local artists. And, judging from the lively, large crowd in attendance, the portrait show was popular.
Another important event from that evening was the launch of the show’s calendar. For those of you who are missing the Nudes of Wakefield calendars, we urge locals to come and see the show and buy a calendar. All of the proceeds go back to Wakefest, to pay its creative people and to bring many future Wakefests.
You can still see the artwork at Cafe Radisson until at least the end of September, and you can buy a calendar at Cafe Radisson, The Wakefield General Store, Jamboree, or The End of the Line Boutique.
