Low Down letter gets Soupcon pot boiling

The Editor,

This is in response to Chantal Lariviere’s comment, “If you can’t handle the heat,

get out of the kitchen business,” in Letters to the Editor (Low Down, July 14 edition).

First off, when I read it I didn’t know where to begin. After many discussions with friends and restaurant industry people, I still don’t know where to begin. Chantal, you just don’t get it – the restaurant business, that is.

And that’s OK, really. So I would love to personally invite you to hang out with us one night; I would be happy to explain the ins and outs of at least my business and why I do the things I do.

Maybe then you’d have a better understanding of what it’s like to be in the kitchen
