Some top photo tips from HarryNowell.com:

  1. Make your subject smile.
  2. Again, keep the main subject out of the middle of the photo
  3. Keep the photo simple – eliminate messy elements.

Entries were evaluated on:

  1. technical merit – focus, exposure, etc.
  2. compositional merit – how was the photo composed?
  3. subject matter – did the photo make me smile, one way or another?
