Thanks you for our meal in Wakefield, QC

The Editor,

On this Day of Remembrance, once again I went to the service in Wakefield, Quebec.

It was a beautiful but sad day as we stood by the river and remembered.

After the ceremony, the routine was normally to go back to the legion where they would put on a light lunch, but this year the building had been damaged by water and was under renovations, so no lunch.

A few of us went to Le Hibou restaurant café, were we had a beer and a meal and did what military folks do best, talk about nothing and everything. I was very surprised when we went to pay, I was told by our waitress, that it was Remembrance Day and that the bill was taken care of.

To whomever, my friends and I thank you.
