Young skater in a flap over Wakefield’s tent change room

The Editor,

I’m a 21-year-old Wakefield resident, airing the opinion on the outdoor rink that the young crowd in the village got completely screwed by the people who run the recreation committee.

We went from having a two-storey change room – with heat – to an open-ended tent in which to tie our skates. As well, there are but two shovels on site with which to clear snow off the ice.

Meanwhile, nothing meets the needs for the youth/young adults at the new Wakefield rec centre. It’s a $2-million mistake. We went a step forward and 10 back.

Dear Kyle Broom,

I feel your pain . . . at six million dollars.
