Three employees working for two IGA stores in the Outaouais have received a positive test for COVID-19, IGA brands owner Sobeys Group has confirmed.

On April 4, two employees of the IGA store in Cantley, located at 455 Montée de la Source, received positive test results. Their last day of work was March 30, Sobeys says on its website.

The previous day, April 3, an employee of the IGA store in Gatineau, located at 1248 boulevard de la Vérendrye, was declared positive for COVID-19. The employee's last day worked was March 22.

The IGA store in Cantley is owned by the Charles Family, who also own an IGA in Farm Point and a third in Gatineau on Greber Blvd. Neither Pierre Charles nor Marc Gervais, co-owners of the store, returned our request for comment by publication deadline.

On its website, the Sobeys group specifies that it will “communicate directly with customers of the store concerned by affixing posters explaining the measures taken to manage the situation. As a precaution, each time a case is reported, we will thoroughly clean and disinfect the affected store.”

Sobeys Group provides a full list of employees at their various stores who have tested positive for COVID-19 and when their last shift was prior to the positive test. You can view this list yourself at
