Penny Ellis was a caring aunt, sister, friend and teacher. She left this world peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's on November 12, 2022 at the age of 81.
She was born to Ian and Esther Ellis on June 29, 1941. Penny is survived by her brother Ned (partner Rose), niece Chelsey (husband Dave, and their children Lyn and Lila), nephew Robin (wife Amanda, and their children Miaka and Davyn).
Penny spent the bulk of her life in Courtenay BC where she was a primary school teacher and an active member of the Four Square Church. Former students and their families would often stop her in public to express their gratitude for their time together and share fond memories. Penny loved to sing, having been a member of multiple choirs. Her joy for music carried through her entire life.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on November 21, 2022 at Eglise La Pêche in Wakefield Quebec. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Des Collines Health Foundation. During her time at the Wakefield Hospital Penny greatly benefitted from their amazing work.
