The Low Down
Friendly Day
The Editor,
I have an idea for a new national holiday. It would be one where, once a year, all Canadians would be ‘friendly’ to all other Canadians. What a concept!
We would engage our neighbours, even the ones who we think are crazy; we would walk down the street and say “hi” to everyone we encounter. We would go to the store and greet everyone with a smile and a wave.
Wow, just thinking about it makes me feel proud to live in a country that is friendly once a year. What do you think? Is it time?
