Doris Anne Griffin Tie Ten Quee passed away quietly with family at her bedside, in Gatineau on Monday, January 22, 2024.

At 91 years, Doris is predeceased, by Alexander (Gander) Drury and Gemma Keenan-Tie, her beloved grandchildren. Doris is survived by her children Joanna, Chantal, Alex, Faith, Adam, Ben, Kirsten, and Christian Tie Ten Quee, eighteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Doris moved to Canada in 1957 from London, England and after fourteen years raising children on a farm in Ormstown, Quebec, Doris moved to Wakefield, Quebec in 1972 where she settled into farm life on Shouldice Road. Doris ran” Kirsty’s Greenhouse” selling organic plants, eggs and vegetables as well as raising all manner of animals - horses, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats.

Doris spent a lifetime caring about the welfare of animals and small children, reading voraciously and forever engaged with world news and events.

In 1985 Doris moved to Lascelles, where she cared for her grandchildren Victor and Alexander, during their early school years and worked at the Farrellton school as a monitor. Doris was ahead of her time, growing organic and becoming a vegetarian in the 1960s.

Her last years were spent at Le Manoir in Wakefield, and more recently at the Ernest Brisson CHSLD in Gatineau, where she was cared for so gently by the wonderful staff who brightened her final years. She is missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A private cremation was held on Friday, January 26, 2024 in Wakefield, Quebec.
