Hills Remembrance Day ceremonies
The Gatineau Valley Historical Society will hold a Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Chelsea Pioneer Cemetery and Cenotaph next to the graveside of Private Richard Rowland Thompson, the only Canadian to receive the prestigious "Queen's Scarf" for heroism in the Boer War. Vaccination passports and ID must be shown to enter the cemetery grounds and attendees must wear masks throughout the ceremony and respect a one-metre social distancing rule. This event is organized by the GVHS and the Municipality of Chelsea. The cemetery is located at 587 Route 105, Chelsea, and will begin at 10:30 a.m. to give time for COVID screening.
Wakefield Legion will host a Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Cenotaph on Riverside Drive in Peace Park, beginning at 11 a.m.
