PHILLIPS, Rodney

~ March 14, 1932 - August 22, 2023 ~

Rodney was born March 14, 1932 in Ottawa, child of Elias and Mabella. He passed quietly at home on August 22, 2023 in his 91st year. His wife Victoria lovingly and faithfully cared for him in the past years. Rodney was a longtime resident of Chelsea and built his own house there. He loved their Chelsea home where he had a workshop and 2 piano’s, legendary piano playing skills could be heard in the neighbourhood.

Gemologist by trade, career and hobby for many years after retiring. With the love of his life, Victoria Ballantyne, he owned three Jewelry stores in Ottawa.

Survived by his wife Victoria, Father to Mike (Sharron), Rodney (Lorraine), Sherry (Jean), Steve (Claudia) and Grand-Father to Alexie, Tanya (Guy), Sophie (Stefano), Lea (Mike), Adam, Isaiah, Pierre-André (Samrida), and Kevin (Jessalyn), his sister-in-law Grace Phillips (Steve deceased Brother), and niece Terry Phillips, including 7 amazing great grand children. He will be deeply missed by his close friends.

A Celebration of Rodney's life will take place at Motel Chelsea (also known as Tulip Valley) 1418 Rte 105, Chelsea, Exit 21 of Highway 5 North, Québec J9B 1P4 on Sunday, September 24th, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. On the date of their Wedding Anniversary !
