Pierre Guénard wins mayor's seat in Chelsea

Pierre Guénard is the new mayor of Chelsea. The former councillor cruised to victory Nov. 7, beating his challenger Shelley Fraser by more than 700 votes for just over 63 per cent of the vote (unofficial results.)
In Ward 2, it was Dominic Labrie who edged challenger Mikhael Bourassa by just 27 votes to snag just over 47 per cent of the vote while Geoff White came in third with 58 votes.
Ward 3 saw Cybèle Wilson win just over 55 per cent of the vote to become councillor while Christopher Blais got a clear mandate in Ward 4 with 74 per cent of the vote.
Districts one, five and six were acclaimed with Enrico Valente, Rita Jain and Kimberley Chan winning their respective wards. Pick up this week's Low Down for more on the municipal elections.
