Police investigate ‘suspicious’ death in Kazabazua
By Stuart Benson
Police were called to a residence on Hwy 105, in Kazabazua, around 6:30 a.m. Aug. 23, after a man was found unconscious on the ground outside.
Sergeant Marc Tessier, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, confirmed that officers arrived on the scene to find a 40-year-old man “unresponsive.” He was subsequently transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Residents in the area reported hearing a man and woman screaming outside the residence at around 3 a.m that day, and the owner of the home, who wished not to be identified, told The Low Down he believed the death was the result of an overdose.
Sgt. Tessier would not comment on the cause of death other than it was considered “suspicious,” as the SQ is waiting for the coroner's report. He said that police had yet to properly identify the individual.
