Remembrance Day Ceremonies in the Hills
On Remembrance Day, Nov. 11, Canadians acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of those who risked their lives in combat.
To acknowledge these sacrifices, the Gatineau Hills will also fall silent at the 11th hour on Nov. 11.
What follows is a list of Remembrance Day ceremonies held in the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais:
Time: 10:40 a.m.
Where: Pioneer Cemetery at 587 Rte 105
Organizer: The Recreation, Sports, Culture, and Community Life department, Chelsea municipality
Parking details: 528 Rte 105 at Rona Chelsea and 537 Rte 105 at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church.
Time: 11 a.m.
Where: Parc de la Paix across from Kaffé 1870 at 715 Ch. Riverside in Wakefield
Organizer: Royal Canadian Legion Wakefield Branch 214
Details: Many La Pêche residents stored wreaths at the legion. If these residents would like to present their wreaths, please email Lise Lacombe at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
After the ceremony, there will be a potluck-style luncheon at 27 Ch. de la Légion in Wakefield.
