ROBERTSON, Richard John

~ April 26, 1946 - May 6, 2024 ~

Richard John Robertson, age 78, passed away peacefully the evening of Monday, May 6th with his wife Caleta by his side at St Vincent Hospital in Ottawa. He was born April 26th, 1946 in Cornwall Ontario to beloved parents Anne and Alfred (Robbie) Robertson.

Rick was devoted to his wife Caleta and their 3 kids. His love for his family never stopped growing (he actually wrote a 365 day calendar of his love for Caleta each day). His fundamentally social and outgoing personality fostered a tremendous number of well loved and cherished friendships.

Very early on Rick discovered his ability to promote, connect and build relationships driving him through a successful career of business development in Banking, Tele Communications, Real Estate and Global high tech.

With an attitude of dedicated positivity and his natural ability for empathetic persuasion, he was committed to endeavours that he loved and believed in with all his heart. A supporter of his community, he volunteered with CHEO and was President of The Friends of Lake Pemichangan Association for a time.

He will be greatly missed and celebrated by his kids and grand kids including daughter Elyse husband Guillaume, grandchildren Emile, Vincent and Marguerite, step daughter Rebecca husband Thomas, grandchildren Brixton and Ivy and step son Travis, wife Allie and grandchildren Florence and Stella. His grandkids were very used to him saying whatever you want, just ask, the answer is always going to be yes.

Rick fought hard every day to buy as many extra days as possible. Rick and his family have tremendous gratitude for Dr Jill Fulcher, Dr Jason LeClair, and RN Kayla Mackechnie and Medical Daycare for helping him navigate through his condition. A great amount of thanks to the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus and Brueye Continuing Care.

Rick Robertson will be forever remembered for his unwavering joy, love for life, and pursuit of happiness in all endeavours. Maximum FUN!
