Skanks, Peter Dennys Taien’teka:ne passed away after a mbrave struggle with ALS on August 9th, 2022 at St.Vincent’s hospital in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 50. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family, friends and clergy. Beloved husband of Martha King and father of Sarah and Jacob King-Skanks. He is survived by both his parents, Paul Skanks (Leona Guay) and Wendy Dennys (Maureen Parker) and his two brothers Mark (Amaya Tarasoff) and Adam Skanks. He was also a dear brother-in-law to Jan King (Lisa King), Sarah King (James Barrett), Ian King (Dina King) and loved uncle by many nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his many cousins, friends and church community.
Peter was gentle, loving and humorous. He loved music, photography, skiing and the outdoors, and made his home in Chelsea, Quebec. He is someone who leaves an unforgettable impression on others and was a favourite to his care team. A special thank you to his team of nurses and Dr. Charapov at St. Vincent’s hospital.
Peter’s funeral and burial took place Thursday, August 11th, 2022 at Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church in Ottawa, Ontario. Donations can be made in mremembrance of Peter to the ALS Society of Canada.
