Obituary Notice
SULLY, Elaine E
~ 1921 - 2022 ~

The Eveready Bunny's batteries have finally been exhausted. Elaine E Sully passed away peacefully on July 7th 2022 in the early morning hours at her home at the CHSLD Des Collines in Ste Cecile De Masham. Elaine had just celebrated her one hundred and first Birthday, 19 days earlier, with many family members present. She was affectionately known as the Eveready Bunny as she was constantly on the move, usually helping Family or Friends and caring for her Loved Ones. She was born in Grand Prairie, Alberta in 1921 and moved to Wakefield as a toddler. She was the last survivor of 7 children and her parents, Sadie and Cecil Sully.
In the early fourties she met a dashing, mustachioed Banker named Frank Welock. They married in 1943 having 2 children Barb(Bob) and Phil(Lynne) who brought her 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Frank and Elaine lived in Wakefield with Frank passing in 1993. By happenchance, their good friend and Bridge adversary Mary Moffatt passed around the same time and Elaine and Bruce Moffatt dated. With permission from their children, they later tied the knot. They enjoyed travelling and spending winters in Florida, donating to casinos and parimutuel betting on horse racing and the odd grey hound race. They found the Burnside maintenance becoming too much and moved to a condo in Ottawa till Bruce passed in 2008. Elaine was lonesome and moved back to the condos on Sully Road, then the Executive Suite at the Manoir and later, to Des Collines.
We are most grateful to the Staff for the excellent care she received in her final years especially during difficult times(C19). Sharon McGarry at HP McGarry and staff have been most helpful. The family would also like to especially thank cousins Judith Sully(Dunne) and David Sully who were always there for Elaine. And especially Bob and Barb for their steadfast support of their 'Mother Elaine'.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wakefield Community Center October 1st between 3 and 5 pm in the Lounge. Interment of cremated remains at McLarens Cemetery October 2nd at 09:00. Your thoughts are all that are needed, Elaine would understand.
