THIRD DECEASED FROM COVID-19 IN THE OUTAOUAIS AREA
CISSSO PRESS RELEASE:
Gatineau, April 29, 2020 – The CISSS de l'Outaouais regrets to announce a third Covid-19 related death in the area. A second resident of the CHSLD Lionel-Émond has unfortunately died as a result of the virus. The CISSS de l'Outaouais would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones.
The count of confirmed cases in the Outaouais area now stands at 273 cases. The regional data, which is updated daily (before 3 pm), can be found by clicking the following link: https://cisss- outaouais.gouv.qc.ca/covid-19. In addition, the number of people who have recovered stands at 150 in the Outaouais region.
The situation in the CHSLDs in which there is an outbreak has been evolving over the last few days. The CHSLD Lionel-Émond has now 18 confirmed cases of Covid-19. As for the CHSLD de la Petite-Nation, it has been stable for the past few weeks with 7 confirmed cases.
We continue our efforts to stop the spread of Covid-19 within the CHSLD Lionel-Émond. The hot zone where residents with Covid-19 are located is being closely monitored, as is the health condition of the other residents. All protective measures are in place and every effort is being made to limit the spread within the nursing home.
