ON DEC. 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. there will be a vigil along the Wakefield Boardwalk in recognition of women and girls in our community and across the globe who have been victims of abuse and violence. In keeping with the Center for Women’s Global Leadership’s annual international campaign, 16 Days of Activism against Gender- Based Violence, and the United Nations UNiTE campaign to end violence again women, we are inviting people in the municipality of La Péche to join in solidarity, standing together, masked and six feet apart, for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls. Please bring a candle to light and wear something orange.
