A familiar figure is gone from our community.
Beattie Mackenzie, aged 94: cyclist, biologist, jokester, voracious reader, naturist and friend to many, died on March 12th leaving behind his son Ian and wife Celia to whom he was devoted.
He was an example to us all, walking twice a day on River Road until 6 days before his death.
There will be a get-together at the Wakefield Centre May 17th, 1 to 4 PM, to reminisce.
