Though we need to weep your loss,
You dwell in that safe place in our hearts,
Where no storm or night or pain can reach you.
John O’Donohue
Aline, beloved Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother and Great Grandmother left us at age 95.
Aline was kind and caring, gentle and selfless. She was an island of peace and tranquility that you could count on always. Being in her presence was like a warm cup of tea on a cold winter’s day.
Aline was a theologian, a talented seamstress, a gifted gardener and a master craftsman. Over the past five decades she has coaxed literally tons of the Gatineau Hill’s finest stones into stunning retaining walls and garden terraces that adorn her beloved cottage property. She was an extraordinary woman!
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Wakefield General Hospital short term wing, as well as the staff at the Palliative Care Wing of the Hull Hospital. We will be forever grateful to you for your kindness, compassion and caring during Aline’s fragile and vulnerable last few months.
And so to you Aline, Maman, Grand-maman, Grand-mamie, La Belle et La Douce, after a lifetime in the service of others, we say a tearful and loving goodbye. We will miss you, we love you, God speed.
– Your loving family
